Desai’s Meats was established in 1978 and was originally known as Stanger Meat and Ice. In 1984 we moved to Point Road, Durban and traded as Point Road Butchery. In 1998 Desai’s Meats was established in Prince Edward Street, Durban. Due to our quality meats and excellent service we became extremely popular and had to find larger premises with more adequate parking for our customers. As most of our clientele are based in the CBD and the surrounding suburbs – a centralised location was necessary. In January 2007, due to public demand and to satisfy our customers’ needs we opened a much larger butchery with ample parking space in the Sydenham area where we are currently trading.

Our lamb, beef and chicken are of the highest quality and all our meats are strictly halaal. We hand pick the best halaal meats to ensure our meats are tender, lean and fat free. We specialise in halaal marinated braai meats and can accommodate any braai function. Our marinade is so popular that it is now specially bottled and distributed to other parts of the country. Our marinades are bottled in peri-peri and Afghani flavours. We manufacture our own halaal processed meats and do not compromise our quality. Only the finest quality in halaal super beef and lamb is used for all processed meats. Our masala sausages, patties and seekh kebabs are testament to our quality. We now also stock a large variety of cold meats. We also stock homemade products such as biscuits, sauces, marinades and other delicacies.
